|Title||2. Newsletter Irontrail|
We have been overwhelmed by the number of applications! A total of 160 enthusiasts have already registered and 115 in the T201. This means that 23% of the starting places in the T201 have already been allocated. So if you also want to be part of the 2012 premiere and, as an Irontrail Member, benefit from a guaranteed place for the years 2013 to 2015, be sure to book your entry today.
Once our website went live and applications started coming in, a few queries arose. To make sure you are up-to-date, here are some new points:
"Where is the best place to book my accommodation?"
We are currently in the process of working out some attractive accommodation offers in co-operation with the hotels in the main destinations Engadin St. Moritz and Chur. These will be published on our website during the course of November.
In subsequent Newsletters, we will also be introducing you to the individual destinations, so you can pick out your favourite.
As a runner in the T201 or T141, you must pay special attention to the acclimatisation process. This is why we recommend that you arrive on 1 July 2012 at the latest. This will also give you the opportunity in the week leading up to the Irontrail to take part in the attractive supporting programme with seminars, an exhibition and other events, not forgetting the only Morteratsch - Diavolezza route inspection, including the glacier crossing, on 2 July 2012.
"Am I allowed to run the course today as a means of preparation?"
The route will not be marked out until the race takes place. However, with the 1:50,000 map on our website, it is certainly possible to run the course today, in particular as existing through paths can be used.
The only exception is the section from Morteratsch to Diavolezza. This part of the route is not marked from Bovalhütte and cannot be tackled without appropriate equipment and local knowledge. Instead, we recommend the climb up onto Mount Diavolezza using the route marked in blue on this route map.
A GPS track is in development and will be published on our website as soon as it is ready. You will be informed at the appropriate time in a future Newsletter.
"I registered some time ago. Why am I still not on the list of runners?"
If you have not received an acknowledgement e-mail from Mika Timing within one day of your entry application, then your registration has been unsuccessful. If this is the case, please register once again online.
If your chosen method of payment is by bank transfer or postal giro transfer, then the transfer details will be included with your acknowledgement e-mail. Please be aware of the fact that all of these payments have to be entered manually in the registration system by Mika Timing. This takes place once every week. Therefore, depending on when your payment arrives, it can take up to two weeks until you see your name on the list of runners.
We are making every effort to expand our website on an ongoing basis and, of course, to always keep you up-to-date via our Newsletters. If, in spite of this, there is still something troubling you, please do not hesitate to contact us via: firstname.lastname@example.org.
In forthcoming Newsletters, we will be highlighting individual sections of the route. Prepare to be surprised.
Secure your own place in the race! We look forward to hearing from you.
